Officer Position descriptions:
President
The Chief Executive Officer of the Club. Presides over club meetings, the Executive Council (club officers), and appoints special committees. Schedules Executive Council meetings monthly. Sets the tone and goals for the management and administration of the club, builds a program plan for the term of office, uses parliamentary procedures, delegates responsibilities, and provides practical support. Monitors the club performance in the Distinguished Club Program. Votes in the General Council Meetings of the District.

Immediate Past-President
The Senior Advisor and Consultant to the Executive Council. Acts as the club's resident club expert and provides advice and counsel to the president. Responsible for club elections. This is an unelected position and is not in the line of succession. Heads the committee to nominate new club officers based on the whole-person concept. This means not just for speaking ability, but what the member has done for the club, can do for the club, and especially leadership abilities. In essence, the training, experience, and bandwidth.

Vice-President For Education
The Chief Operating Officer of the Club. Meets with individual club members to assess needs. Signs speech manuals when speeches are completed. Responsible for club contests and the club's mentor program. Tracks member growth and progress in the Communication and Leadership Program. This position is probably the most important position in the club since this individual is responsible for planning and programming club meetings. Prepares a general program outline for the term of office, prepares and distributes assignment schedules at least two meetings in advance (and has copies available during each meeting), orients new members to the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Program, conducts member interest surveys, and recognizes educational accomplishments by signing manuals indicating speech completion. Presides over meetings in the absence of the President. Prepares educational sessions as needed. Votes in District 59P General Council meetings.

Vice-President For Membership
The Human Resources Manager for the Club. Responsible for membership recruiting and retention program. Responsible for induction ceremonies for new members. In accordance with TMI directives, nominates guests for membership in the club. Prepares a strategy for building club membership, makes every effort to retain current members, greets guests, and encourages guests to join the club. Maintains the club membership roster. Encourages all members to attend club meetings and is responsible for the Toastmaster of the Month Program. Assists the Vice-President for Education with the Club Mentor Program.

Vice-President For Public Relations
The Public Affairs Officer for the Club. Responsible for external club communications (publicity and advertising). Coordinates all publicity through local radio, television, and newspapers. Plans and implements methods for increasing Toastmasters visibility in the local community through interviews, articles, word of mouth, etc. Works closely with Vice-President for Membership to ensure membership drives have sufficient publicity.

Secretary
The Principal Administrative Consultant for the Club. Keeps meeting minutes. Maintain club records. Circulates TIPS and maintains the club constitution and by-laws.

Treasurer
The Chief Financial Officer of the Club. Provides the bank with a new signature card to include himself/herself and the club president. Responsible for dues collection. Generates the club's semi-annual report in conjunction with the President. Notifies each member in writing of dues payable, collects payable dues and fees, pays bills promptly, and issues a check to Toastmasters International for new member fees and semi-annual dues. Responsible for club finances. Maintains Toastmasters supply catalog and circulates it at meetings. Orders supplies and equipment needed by the club, its members, and club officers.

Sergeant-At-Arms
The Chief of Logistics and Resources for the Club. Responsible for club equipment and supplies. Greets visitors and welcomes them to Toastmasters. Sets up the meeting room, passes out ballots and duty sheets before the meeting, and arranges special meetings as required.
